Bruce Sterling is famous for his science fiction books and stories. Together with William Gibson, he is one of the key “cyberpunk” writers. He is also a critic and contributes regularly to Wired, for whom he edits the blogs Beyond the Beyond and Dispatches From the Hyperlocal Future.

He has written many essays addressing scientific and political issues regarding new technologies, these include The Hacker Crackdown: Law and Disorder on the Electronic Frontier and Tomorrow Now. He is also the founder of Viridian Design (www.viridiandesign.org).
After writing Shaping Things, he moved to Torino with his wife, Jasmina Tesanovic, to work as guest curator of Share Festival (www.toshare.it).
